The Coach House on Camden
The Coach House
is steeped in
local history. This heritage home is located in a quiet, leafy area alongside the
Camden Street Park. This quirky home was the original coach house for the area back in the
1800's when this entire area in
Tamboerskloof
was one big farm.
The lounge still has the original
cobble-stone floor
complete with gutter for the water to run outside as this is where the coaches
and carriages were brought in to be cleaned. The walls show the exposed,
original bricks.
There's a dedicated study/office area with printer tucked away in a nook just
off the dining area making this a perfect retreat for
remote workers.
There is also a cosy, enclosed wooden floor courtyard with a Weber/barbeque
facility. Plus the lounge has an old-fashioned fireplace.
At the top of the ornate, steel,
spiral staircase
are two bedrooms and a bathroom with walk-in shower. The main bedroom,
upstairs has French,
stained glass doors
which lead onto a small wooden deck with outside shower.
